Removing Tiles Guide: How To Remove Tiles & Tile Adhesive With the Multimaster
MULTIMASTER
Removing tiles and tile adhesive can be a tedious task, but with the Multimaster it's child's play.
TIPS TO HELP YOU COMPLETE THIS TASK EFFICIENTLY:
Preparation and safety: Wear personal protective equipment such as gloves, hearing protection and safety goggles to protect yourself from mineral dust. Make sure that the Multimaster is equipped with a suitable attachment, e.g. a diamond saw blade (63502114210) or a carbide saw blade (63502118210) for effective cutting of the tile joint and a carbide rasp (63731001210) for removing the tile adhesive. The saw blades are available with cutting widths of 2.2 mm and 1.2 mm, depending on the joint width.
Loosen the tiles: Carefully position the Multimaster along the joint. Make sure to position the tool so that it fits exactly into the joint and does not protrude beyond the neighboring tiles. Position the saw blade at the "tile joint" of the tile and work slowly to avoid damaging the substrate. Hold the tool steady and evenly to ensure a straight cut. Be careful not to apply too much pressure to avoid breaking the tile. Once the cut is complete, you can carefully remove the separated tile section.
Remove tile adhesive: Once the tile has been removed, it is time to remove the old tile adhesive. Use the carbide rasp (63731001210) to do this. Be careful not to press too hard so as not to damage the substrate.
Use a dust extractor: Use a dust extractor (92037060990) connected directly to the Multimaster to remove dust and dirt immediately. This improves visibility and reduces dust exposure.
Thorough cleaning: Once the tile adhesive has been removed, clean the area thoroughly to ensure that no residue remains.
Finishing work: Once you have removed the tiles and tile adhesive, you can start the finishing work, such as plastering or laying new tiles.
